How to Cut the Jalapeño Peppers
It is important to wear gloves when handling the jalapeño peppers to avoid getting the capsaicin on your hands. To start, you will need to slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise (right through the stem) and remove the seeds. Remove any remaining white membrane by scraping with a spoon. Lastly, rinse off the jalapeño peppers to remove any residual capsaicin. Now you are ready to begin assembling your Air Fryer Bacon Wrapped Ranch Jalapeños!
Bacon Wrapped Ranch Jalapeño Popper Tips and Tricks
When wrapping the jalapeños, it is best to make sure the bacon is completely covering the jalapeño to ensure that the cheese stays inside and does not ooze out. Since you are using only a half slice of bacon for wrapping, our best advice is to cut the bacon lengthwise especially if you are making extra large jalapeños. This will give you longer pieces of bacon to wrap around the jalapeño and won’t fall off when cooking. If you are having issues with getting the bacon to stick to the jalapeño, you can use toothpicks to secure the bacon in place.
To ensure the bacon is cooked thoroughly, preheat your air fryer to 400°F before adding the jalapeños. If you want extra crispiness, spray the bacon wrapped jalapeños with a light coat of cooking oil before placing them in the air fryer, but this is not required.
These poppers can also be made in advance and stored in the freezer for later. Just thaw out in the refrigerator before cooking.
Air Fryer and Oven Cooking Instructions
If you don’t want to use the air fryer or you are cooking a really large batch of bacon-wrapped ranch jalapeño poppers, you can use the oven.
To start, preheat your oven to 375°F. Then, line a baking sheet with aluminum foil and place the bacon-wrapped jalapenos on top. Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the bacon is cooked through. Once done, allow the jalapeño poppers to cool for a few minutes before serving.
If you’d like to make them in an air fryer (which is our preferred method), simply set the temperature to 400°F and cook for 9-11 minutes. Then, let the jalapeños cool for a few minutes before serving.
Either way you make them, these bacon-wrapped ranch jalapeño poppers are sure to be a hit. Serve them as an appetizer at your next gathering and enjoy the savory flavor of bacon-wrapped ranch jalapeños! No one will even know they are low carb and keto friendly.
