Makeup, weather, pollution – we put ourselves through so much each day. Your skin and body need some much-deserved TLC overnight after all it’s been through. Take just a few extra minutes to add these simple steps to your nighttime beauty routine. Follow these beauty and skincare tips from head to toe and your body will thank you!
Nighttime Beauty Routine
Starry Clean Slate – Wash your face. Never go to bed until you have washed your makeup off. Leaving makeup on can cause breakouts and stretch your pores. Daily cleansing not only prevents pore-clogging but also ensures better absorption of skincare products. It’s science, not magic!
Hydrate and Radiate – Moisturize. First, be sure you are drinking enough water during the day! While you focus on hydrating from the inside out, did you know that using a humidifier can maintain your skin’s moisture barrier? Especially in drier climates, a nightly mist can be a savior.
Spot the Difference – Spot Treat. Targeted treatments like overnight masks often contain higher concentrations of active ingredients. (We love Laneige!) Be sure to read instructions before leaving on overnight. This makes night the ideal time for deep treatments, letting those actives work while you dream.
Glow Overnight – Exfoliate. Nighttime exfoliation helps in removing dead skin cells, aiding the skin’s natural repair process. Fun fact: The skin’s cell regeneration is higher at night than during the day.
Dancing Feet – Foot Care. Your feet carry you all day. Applying a moisturizing cream can boost the skin’s hydration levels, and wearing socks locks in that moisture. It’s the spa treatment your feet didn’t know they needed!
Hands Up for Softness – Cuticles and Hands. Like our faces, our hands are always exposed. Use cuticle oil and a heavy hand cream at night with ingredients like hyaluronic acid to provide deep hydration. And that hydration can lead to younger-looking hands.
Tress-ful Nights – Hair. Your hair can accumulate dirt and oil throughout the day. Keeping it away from your face and using a clean pillowcase can prevent unexpected breakouts. For those with acne-prone skin, satin or silk pillowcases are recommended.
Dreamy Beauty Sleep – Sleep. Sleep is when our body heals itself. Give your body a chance to indulge in all the TLC self-care you took time to do for it before bed. A consistent sleep schedule supports the skin’s collagen production and elasticity. Aim for those golden 8 hours for a youthful complexion.
Embrace the Night, Glow by Morning
Evening rituals are more than just routines; they’re a promise to our future selves. A pledge that each dawn will unveil a refreshed, revitalized version of ourselves. Here’s to nights dedicated to nourishment and mornings brimming with radiance. Rest well and rise even better!
